Likely the work of one highly skill amateur and unique in every way, signed The Pennington Series and dated 1907 / 8.
Photographs expertly seamed into cut leather w/ pyrography tooling (?) to create banners that when hung against each other measure 21.5 W x 20” H w/o fringe.
The only clues to artist’s identity are a Chicago Daily Newspaper in one boy’s hand, Madison Street sign and a crate marked with P.S.C. Co. // 1279 w/ possibly the Star of David.
Sweet scenes and warm patina. Leather is supple and would easily sustain repair to breaks and fringe loss.
