4.5 x 6 Antique Bakshaish Rug, Heriz District, Northwest Persia, Circa 1900
In astonishingly fine condition and with superb color quality, this antique Bakshiahs rug, from the Heriz district in northwest Persia’s Azerbaijan province, features a coral medallion with a denim blue center and sky blue, brick and camel highlights on a navy blue field. Whimsically drawn ivory corner spandrels and a brick red border frame the field.
An outstanding example.
