This handsome pair of Regency argand lamps are offered in a patinated finsh with gilt highlights. The urn shaped font has scrolling handles and a classical wreath mount. The standard is composed of a caryatid draped in a robe upon a triple stepped base. An identical two arm lamp was on display in the landmark exhibition, Classical America 1815-1845, at The Newark Museum in 1963 and appears in the catalog as Plate 198 on pages 148 and 157.
