Large Shaker Woodbox

A finely crafted example of unusually large size having a bull-nosed lift lid, a compartmented interior and a finely dovetailed case. . Such a grand sized woodbox was probably used in a shop, laundry, kitchen or other large workplace. The top edges, back of lid and lower edge of till have iron strapping affixed with screws to prevent undue wear.  Pine retaining an old or original yellow painted surface.
