An amazing French clock cupboard or vaisselier a' horloge.
Dated 1883 from the Finistere Brittany region of France. This wonderful piece is made of chestnut and highly decorated with turnings, carvings, engraved brass hardware and contrasting inlays of hearts, flowers and geometric designs.
Even the brass has a couple hearts among the rest of the engraving.
This was a marriage cupboard celebrating the couple’s wedding with names, hearts and the date.
The clock is signed “Carre' a Quimper”
All in absolutely wonderful original condition!
