This mahogany tall clock was made by Simon Willard of Roxbury, Massachusetts, about 1800. It measures only 85 3/4 inches tall and has the rare use of brass stop-fluting in the quarter columns. In a beautiful older finish, it retains its original openwork fret. The brass finials and rear foot facings are replaced. According to the accompanying documentation, this clock was made for the marriage of Lucretia Phipps and James Baxter in 1808.
