Important Shaker Tilting Side Chair


This extremely rare example is one of only a few known which combines the elegant form of the New Lebanon, NY chair-makers, the finest woods available and the final evolution of the Shaker innovation of the "tilter", (having both ferrules and buttons made of pewter).  Birdseye and curly maple retaining an old or original stain and varnish finish.
