A great example of Chinese export porcelain made for the American market, these vibrantly enameled pieces in the Green Fitzhugh pattern are monogramed with a gilded "S" for SPOONER, for Capt. Nathaniel Spooner (1819-1857), captain of the trading concern of Russell & Co. The Spooners have New England roots going back to the 17th century in Plymouth, MA, where their family home is now a museum. Slight wear to the enamels of the serving dish, otherwise all three pieces are in good condition.
