The inkwell dates from the mid 19th century and was made by Frederick Bridges, a phrenologist from Liverpool, England. The inkwell has a chip under the bottom rim of the base and two very small flakes on the exterior rim of the base. The head measures 5.5 inches in height, 3 inches in width, and 3.25 inches in depth.
