A classic Chinese export porcelain drum-form teapot with double strap handle and leechee nut knop, made for the American market and centered on each side with a sepia eagle supporting a shield with a gilded floral sprig, a radiating halo with gilded stars behind his head, the design based upon an early version of the Great Seal of the United States. Slight re-touch to the gilding, otherwise in very good condition. Ex-Elinor Gordon collection. Circa 1800.
