New Jersey Fraktur/Birth Certificate


A pen and ink Quaker birth certificate from Burlington County, New Jersey reads, “Abraham Heulings was born 1st Month 29th, 1798” An urn with flowing vines anchors the bottom border, while trailing vines of tulip, dogwood, and lily flow from the top. Handed down through the family. Wood board back. Frame construction is held together at the corners by wooden inserts. Some staining and minor loss to the outside edge of the fraktur. 7” length 7 ¾” width. Frame 8 ½” length 9 ½” width ¾” depth.
