Hardcover with dust jacket. 335pp with 202 black and white photographs and 577 line drawings, this book is well suited to identifying bottles, seals, dates, forms and shapes, etc.  24 chapters cover history, evolution, dating, and a variety of different shaped bottles including: shaft and globe, onion, bladder onion, mallet, octagonal, squat cylindrical, cylindrical, Three-piece mould cylindrical, decanter, nailsea, European, Miscellaneous, wine bottles after 1900. Seals are discussed, Bottle Seals illustrated, Thames-side seal recoveries noted. Rarity, Fakes, Forgeries and Restorations also make an appearance.
