VERY SCARCE STAFFORDSHIRE PITCHER WITH IMPRESSIVE AMERICAN EAGLE AND SHIELD MADE FOR THE AMERICAN MARKET CIRCA 1792

The 15 stars above the eagle (one unseen due to flash) probably indicate 15 states in the Union which would date to Kentucky's statehood starting in 1792. Obviously made for export to the American market, the eagle and shield occupy the entire side of the pitcher and couldn't be more impressive. The other side shows the sailor's goodbye and a flotilla of ships at sea. It is in excellent original condition except for an unseen professionally restored short hairline from the base.
