A Neoclassical Easy Chair

This elegant easy chair is of the distinctive New York form. Underneath the upholstery, this chair follows other New York examples in having straight wings constructed of solid sides. The elegant turned front legs have their original ferrules and casters with gilt lacquer finishes. The chair has been covered a chrome yellow harateen by Scalamandré in period appropriate upholstery techniques. A very similar New York easy chair was recently added to the collection at Boscobel.
