William Spratling, a renowned architect from the US, was drawn to Taxco, Mexico after to Mexican Revolution. He is generally credit with having been the spearhead for the revival of the silver industry in Taxco as well as having been the leader of what became a major internationally known movement of design. These earrings were made by Spratling between 1944-1946 and are a classic and elegant design. The screwbacks can be converted to posts without damaging the hallmarks if the buyer desires.
