Intricately carved with elaborate open fretwork, this wooden box is dated "1915" with a carved inscription of
" Stephanie Stevens", and is typical of tramp art objects made in America, especially the upper MidWest, during the first quarter of the 20th century. Very unusual to find a still bank in the form of a tramp art decorated wooden box. As with most folk art, this charming and well constructed box was created by a very talented, albeit, untrained artist. The condition is excellent and all original, with a few small insets lacking.
Dimensiona: 8 1/4" long x 6 1/2" deep x 5" high.
