This large basin is marked by Compton who worked in London from 1801-1817. It has a nice hammered booge. It is a heavy piece of pewter weighing about 3 pounds. No wonder that they used pewter on ships for ballast. The basin shows signs of use with no mends or repairs or major dents. Might be the largest you can find for a stack.
